Donte to Build the Meeting Place + Mercantile

The Crosshatch Meeting Place + Mercantile is coming soon. This unique community hub in downtown Bellaire is designed to connect neighbors of all ages through art, craft, learning, and food. Before we can open, we need your help.

Crosshatch purchased this 120-year-old building in the fall, and since then, our staff and volunteers have been pouring our hearts into the space. We've opened up the walls, pulled up the flooring, and removed the ceiling, giving us an up-close look at the state of things. Through this process, it's become obvious that the building needs a lot more love than we originally anticipated. 

To raise the funds needed for renovations, we're launching a Patronicity crowdfunding campaign. If we raise $50,000 before July 2nd, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation will contribute an additional $50,000 for the project. 

We can’t wait to welcome you to this new space. When the time comes, we’ll be waiting with a cup of coffee, an interesting conversation, or a new skill for you to learn (or teach!). We’re making a space for you. Together, we can get this old building up to code. Together, we can get the doors open. Will you help?
