Are you interested in learning how to inoculate your own mushroom logs? Join Robert Kraemer at Wagbo Farm in East Jordan for a hands-on mushroom log workshop. This workshop will answer all your questions regarding the mushroom log process, from when to cut your trees, what species of trees can be used, what tools you need for the job, and finally, how it's done! You will get a chance to do each step of the inoculation process with your own hands. All tools will be provided, and all questions are welcome. Participants will take home confidence to inoculate mushroom logs as a by-product of managing their forests, and will have the opportunity to take home a shiitake log.
Meet Your Instructor:
Robert Kraemer is a forest farmer near Mancelona, MI, where he tends mushroom logs, maple syrup, timber, and nursery crops. A 2014 graduate of MSU's Biosystems Engineering Program, he's spent the years since building a farming practice rooted in agroforestry and regenerative agriculture.
Robert is the founder of MycoGenerative, a venture exploring how mycology and agroforestry can work together — treating fungi as partners in the system rather than just a product. He brings the perspective of someone who has built this work from the ground up, on his own land, in northern Michigan.
