Putting Down Roots in Downtown Bellaire

We are wildly happy to share that Crosshatch has purchased the building at 221 N. Bridge St. in downtown Bellaire, where we’ll be opening the Crosshatch Meeting Place + Mercantile. Our work takes us across the region, but Bellaire has always been our home. Settling into a physical space within the community is a dream come true. This will be a space for you to connect with neighbors, learn something new, and purchase local goods.

Opportunities to Visit

There is plenty to be done before we’re fully open, but we have a few opportunities coming up for you to visit the space for a special event.

What You’ll Find at Crosshatch Meeting place + Mercantile

Workshops and Community Events

You’ll be welcomed into the space for workshops related to our mission, for both beginners and professionals, as well as events designed to bring together the community. There will be something for everyone to learn or experience here, and we know you’ll walk away feeling more connected and capable.

Retail

We’ll offer items for sale in the space that align with our mission and values, and support local makers, growers, and producers working to make their livelihood in our community. You’ll be able to get a great cup of coffee or tea so you can stop in and stay a while, and connect with other people while you’re here.

Artist Residency

In the apartment upstairs, we’re excited to start building a new artist residency program. Bringing artists to downtown Bellaire will inspire them to create new work and offer opportunities for the community to connect with artists from around the country.

Before we can make all of these things happen, we need to renovate the inside of the building, purchase equipment, and staff the space. Will you help us make it happen?
