Skill Swap

  • Earthwork Farm 4399 North 7 Mile Road Lake City, MI, 49651 United States (map)

This June 1 the Skill Swap returns. Crosshatch, along with Earthwork Music and Human Nature School, presents a full day of hands-on workshops, a farm-to-table dinner, barn dance and evening concerts.

Choose from over twenty classes, including songwriting, making hard cider, DIY beeswax food wraps, functional knot tying, chainsaw operation, garden irrigation, peace poetry, orienteering and tanning deerskin. Plus, new this year: circle sessions for knitting, and for learning about non-violent communication, eco-psychology and tea ceremony.

After the day of workshops, stick around for an on-farm, locally procured dinner featuring chef Loghan Call of Planted Cuisine. End the evening a contra dance hour, followed by music in the barn from Ugandan folk musician Samuel Nalangira and the evening’s headliner, Senegalese kora player Mady Kouyate.

Tickets are on sale now. Join us for this start-of-the-summer event where you learn, connect with good people, eat great food and experience exceptional music at Earthwork Farm.
